I really enjoyed working with Dr. Valerie M. Bentz as my mentor and Dissertation Chair. I am truly grateful that Dr. Bentz accepted the mentor’s role in this last and most difficult phase of my journey at Fielding, in the middle of my struggles with the research question and dissertation proposal. I am truly grateful that Dr. Bentz found time to connect with me, talk, ask questions, and allowed me to hear myself and finally understand what my real research question was. I appreciate her gentle approach and creating the space for me to be myself, and speak in my own voice. I appreciate her coordinating the dissertation committee work and showing true interest and support in helping me navigate the final steps of the dissertation process.
