What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

Forms submitted via contact forms on the site send an email directly to our site’s administrator and contact details are not intentionally shared with third parties without consent. Submitting a contact form will not automatically subscribe you to a mailing list, and you will not be contacted other than in response to your stated inquiry.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

How we protect your data

We make every effort to keep our site as secure as possible, including regularly updating the sites plugins and keeping our version of WordPress up to date to minimize vulnerabilities. Additionally, we regularly monitor Google Search Console to identify other warnings and vulnerabilities.

Should the site be attacked, registered users will be forced to reset their passwords to prevent unauthorized logins. This site does not collect confidential information about its users.

What third parties we receive data from

We view visitor trends and data in Google’s suite of SEO products, including, but not limited to, Google Search Console and Google Analytics. This may include location, time of day, and type of device, among others. None of this information is reviewed at the individual level and users of remain anonymous.

What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data

We do not analyze or profile users at the individual level, however visitor statistics and trends are used in aggregate to optimize SEO and user experience decisions.
